As per her wishes, the remains have been cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Glory Cemetery. The Rev. Jack Atkinson will officiate.
The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Tift Area.
Born Nov. 3, 1933, in Berrien County, Mrs. Akridge was the daughter of Jesse Moore and Estelle Swilley, both deceased.
She was a homemaker and a member of Glory United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Akridge of Alapaha; two daughters, Rhonda Garrett of Tifton and Donna Garrett of Nashville; one son, Chuck Garrett of Portland, Ore.; one sister, Sherry Chambers of Warwick; one brother, Wilburn Moore of Michigan; and three grandchildren.
