Charles Porter Moore, the son of Hopkins Porter Moore, was born in Towanda, Pennsylvania, August 29, 1842, died there January 6, 1889. He was educated in the public schools of his native town and at the Eastman Business College at Poughkeepsie, New York. For ten years he was associated with his father in the management of his general store, and for ten years he was in mining business, having been superintendent of various mines. The last years of his life were spent in association with his son in the general store at Towanda. He married, May 4, 1865, Elizabeth McCabe. Children: 1. George Hopkins, (edit). 2. Jeannette, married John Dayton, of Towanda; children: Mary, Harry.
