Josefina Montemayor de Martinez, 84, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on October 17, 2013 peacefully in her sleep.
Cecilio G. Martinez, 86, of San Antonio passed away October 20, 2013 surrounded by family.
Fina was born in Zuazua, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on August 14, 1929. She immigrated to the United States as a young bride living in Elgin, TX for five years before moving to San Antonio in 1966. Tita – as she was affectionately called by her family– was a talented cook and prolific gardener. She was the favorite aunt of her many nieces and nephews and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Cecilio was born November 22, 1926 in Elgin, TX to Pedro and Pafaela Martinez who preceded him in death.
Tita and Tito were married 55 years, they are survived by their three daughters, Cecilia and husband Gilbert Weaver, Martha and husband Roberto Rodriguez, Sylvia and husband Mark Partida, five grandchildren Christopher Weaver and wife Veronica, Nicholas Weaver, Lauren Partida, Erica Partida, and Sarah Rodriguez, one great-granddaughter Caitlin Weaver and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cecilio is also survived by his sisters and brother, Evelia, Ninfa and Juan Martinez.
Fina was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Simoncita Montemayor, her brothers Manuel, Jose Roberto, and Marcial Montemayor as well as her sisters Maria M. de Rodriguez and Rosa M. de La Garza.
The Martinez family wishes to thank Yesenia Villarreal, Elizabeth Piech, Nelly Tijerina and Gloria Lopez for the loving and dedicated care provided to both our parents.
