OREGON CITY, OR - Donna Ruth Groat, 83, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at McLoughlin Place Senior Living, Oregon City, OR.
She was born in Woodland, Washington on May 20, 1929 to the late Royce Harold Mitchell and the late Frances Golden (Stoneking) Mitchell.
Donna graduated from Girls Poly Tech in Portland, Oregon.
She married Homer Groat Jr. on August 26, 1950 in Portland Oregon at the First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oregon, the Village Baptist Church in Beaverton, Oregon and Calvary Christian Lighthouse Church in Hartford City.
Donna had lived in Indiana from September of 2006 until April 2012 to be near her daughter, Sandy's family.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Ruth Ann (husband, David) McKay of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Dorothy "Dot" Frances (husband, Daniel) McQuade of Frohna, Missouri; Valerie "Val" Jean (husband, Howard) Lortz of Vancouver, Washington; Sandra "Sandy" Jane (husband, Pastor Chris) Neel of Hartford City; grandchildren, Anna McKay, Aaron McKay, Rachael McKay, Micky McQuade, Michael Lortz, Rose Spears, Abigail Lortz, Angela Lortz, Samuel Lortz, Zane Lortz, Emily Neel and Andrew Neel; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, George Mitchell.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her granddaughter, Jennifer Renee Neel, brothers, Jack Mitchell and Harold Mitchell.
There will be a Memorial Service for Donna at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Calvary Christian Lighthouse Church, 2101 N. Walnut St. Hartford City with Pastor Chris Neel of Calvary Christian Lighthouse Church officiating.
Memorial Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Calvary Christian Lighthouse Church.
