She was born February 20, 1938 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Richard and Dorothy Mitchell Mills. She graduated from Olympus High School, Class of 1956.
She married Hyrum LeRoy "Duke" Brian on February 4, 1957 in Elko, Nevada. They moved to West Valley City, where they raised their three children, Greg, Gaylynn and Debbie. Duke died on January 29, 2006.
Carolynn enjoyed crafts, bowling and dancing. She could play Nintendo with one hand, and no one could beat her. Wendover was her home away from home. She loved it there.
She is survived by her son, Greg Brian; daughter, Gaylynn and Kyle Clayson, all of West Valley City; grandchildren: Tina Anderson, Travis Heller, Wendy Rollins, Tasi Tupaz, Jo Edwards, Charli Hullinger and Duke Brian; great-grandchildren: Leah Rollins, Damien Rollins, Draigon Hullinger and Oaklee Tupaz. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Edwards; a grandson, Kenneth "Duke" Heller; her parents and a brother, Richard Mills.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 6 p.m. in the Hunter 2nd LDS Ward Chapel located at 3970 South 5200 West in West Valley City, where friends may call for a viewing on Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 4:30 to 5:30 prior to the services.
Graveside Services and Interment will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Loa Cemetery in Loa, Utah, under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
