James Waymon Miller
Mr. James Waymon Miller, 76 of Lebanon, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.
James was born in Decatur, Ala., on April 19, 1936. He was the son of the late Lawrence E. and Lovela (Russell) Johnson. He resided in Decatur until the age of 16, when he moved to Indianapolis and met his then future wife, Mary.
He married Mary Ellen Crossfield on Dec. 4, 1954, in Indianapolis. Mrs. Miller passed away on Nov. 1, 2009.
James worked a total of 42 years in foundries in Indianapolis, first for Federal Pattern Works and Foundry. He later worked for Dean Brothers for 12 years, before retiring in 1992.
As a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, he enjoyed his family and took pride in his children's lives. He was dedicated to taking care of his now-late wife, Mary. He enjoyed the out-of-doors and gardening.
James attended the Lebanon Rock Church.
Survivors include three children, Ricky L. (Susan) Miller, Tim L. Miller and James A. (Diana) Miller, all of Lebanon; just like a son, Robert (Christine) Rhinehart of Thorntown; daughter-in-law, Cathy Miller of Lebanon; nine grandchildren, Michelle (Eddie) LaMont of Pennsylvania, Gerald Wayne Miller II of Lebanon, Ricky L. (Brandi) Miller II of Brazil, Cory Miller of Lebanon, Michelle Coffman of Thorntown, Justin Miller of Indianapolis, Kendra Thomas of Frankfort, and James (Jessica) Miller and Cassie (Michael) Miller-Goodwin, all of Lebanon; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dean Johnson, Bobby Johnson and Thomas Johnson, all of Alabama, and Marcia Johnson, Linda Perry and Clara Holt, all of Texas.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald Gene Miller and Gerald Wayne Miller; two sisters, Marie Johnson and Brenda Amerson; two brothers, Milton Johnson and Kenneth Johnson; and a granddaughter, Lori Miller.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 18, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Myers Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at the Browns Wonder Cemetery east of Lebanon.
