Freda Lucille Lundeen, 94, of Onawa died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Freda Lucille was born April 16, 1915 in Ticonic, Iowa the daughter of Claude and Estella (Jenkins) Miller. She was raised in the Ticoniuc/Smithland area and graduated from Smithland High School in 1933.

Freda and Waldo Lundeen were united in marriage September 30, 1933 in Onawa, Iowa. The couple farmed near Grant Center, Iowa until they moved to Onawa in 1980, Waldo passed away October 18, 2002.

Freda was a member of Onawa United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women at both Ticonic and Onawa. She was a devoted farmwife and mother and enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, sewing, embroidering and collecting spoons and bells. Her family will always remember her delicious canned pickles, jellies and apple butter.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Larry and Candace Lundeen of Plymouth,Mn.; two daughters, Marlene Knoff of Castana, Iowa and Sheryl and her husband Larry Pixler of Arvada Co.; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren; a great great grandson; six great great grandchildren; a brother, Keith and his wife Alice Miller of Mapleton, Iowa and a sister, Carol Hewitt of Sioux City, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dale Knoff, a great grandson, Diego LaBriola; two brothers, LeRoy and Russell Miller and four sisters, Elizabeth Nutt, Wilma Johnson, Bethine Morse and Jeannine Clemon.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2009 at Onawa United Methodist Church with Rev. Angela Gafford Asmus officiating.

Burial was in the Little Sioux Township Cemetery at Smithland, Iowa.
