Nancy M. McBride, 55, of 320 South Story Street in Boone, was called home to be with her Lord on Tuesday morning, November 17, 2009 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born on January 5, 1954 in Liberal, Kansas the daughter of Merle and Wilma (Sellers) Miller.
On September 14, 1981, she married William McBride at Guymon, Oklahoma.
Nancy graduated from Hardesty High School in Hardesty, Oklahoma and attended Panhandle State University in Goodwell, OK. In 1995, the family moved to Iowa. Nancy was currently the office manager for Dan's Custom Landscaping in Ames, a position she had for the past 11 years.
She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Boone. Nancy Loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her father, Merle; mother-in-law Donna McBride; and a brother-in-law Dennis McBride preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband Bill of Boone; a daughter Amber Vale and husband Jason of Boone; a son Shawn McBride of Boone; 4 grandchildren Alaina McBride, Abby Jackson and Sophie Vale all of Boone; mother Wilma Miller of Liberal Kansas; 2 brothers Lloyd Miller and wife Charlene of Hardesty, Oklahoma and Ronnie Miller and wife Shannon of Hooker, OK; 1 sister Beverly Trimmel and husband John of Liberal, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday morning, November 20th at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Episcopal Church in Boone with Father Tom Gehlsen officiating.
Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.
Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family to greet friends. Visitations with a closed casket will continue at the Church on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the family for a memorial to be determined at a later date.
