Grace A. Evans, 85, of 18400 State Road, Van Wert, died at 2:49 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2004, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
She was born March 22, 1918, in Washington Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Jacob C. and Zada (Jamieson) Miller. On February 14, 1939, she married David J. Evans, who survives at home.
Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and farmed with her husband for many years. She was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Gordon D. (Cherrie) Evans of rural Van Wert; one daughter, Marcia (Jeff) Pollock of Van Wert; a brother, Bob (Marty) Miller of Delphos; two sisters, Marilyn Oglesbee of Jackson, Mich., and Doris Markley of Van Wert; five grandchildren, Julie (Steve) West, Wendy (Doug) Tiffany, Michael (Jennifer) Evans, Sam Evans and Carrie Evans, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 23, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Wendy Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-7 p.m. Sunday, February 22, at the funeral home.
