Wanda Jones, 79, passed away Friday, August 7, 2009 in her residence. Wanda, daughter of Katherine Grimm and David Miller, was born in Marietta, Oklahoma on December 16, 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Jones; parents, Katherine Grimm Pearson and Sidney Sam Pearson of Alexandria, LA. She is survived by her sons, Sid Jones and wife Dena of Charlotte, NC, Jeff Jones and wife Frances of Lake Charles, Scott Jones and wife, Monica of Winnie, TX; daughters, Katie Fontenot and husband Greg of Lake Charles, Penny Taylor and husband Joe of Sulphur, Lisa Flavin and husband Dan of Lake Charles, Paige Jones of Lake Charles; 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Shirley Dickerson of Orange, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will at 10:00 am, Monday, August 10, 2009 from Christ the King Catholic Church under direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 5 until 9 pm with a 6:00 pm scripture / rosary service and from 8 until 9:30 am on Monday. Her grandsons, Jeffrey Jones, Jr, Jacob Fontenot, Cody Taylor, Ty, Matt and Hank Jones, and Beau, Brent, Brady, Bobby and Benjamin Flavin will serve as casket bearers. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, 7680 Gulf Highway, Lake Charles, LA 70607 A note of thanks to, Doctors, Lynn Foret and Arthur Primeaux; the nurses and Hospice Staff of Christus St Patrick Hospital for their devoted care as well as the many friends that have prayed for our family showing love and support over the past 18 months.
