Mrs. John Middleton

Jennie See, daughter of John and
Mary See. was born January 23,
1856 in Schuyler county, Missouri,
six miles north of Lancaster. At
this place she grew to womanhood
and was united in marriage to
John Middleton August 16, 1884;
to this union five children were born,
Mrs. Oscar Ranes of 1512 S.22nd
Street of this city , Roy and Jim of
Centerville, Archie of Des Moines,
and Harley who died at the age of
three. Mr. and Mrs. Middleton spent
the greater part of their married life in
Centerville and it was at her late home,
1503 S. 22nd street that she departed this
life Monday morning at 4:30, December
9th, 1935 at the mature age of 79 years,
10 months, and 17 days. In early woman-
hood she was converted and united with
the Dover Baptist Church three miles __st
of Memphis, MO. At the time of her death
she was a member of the Omaha, Mo.
Baptist church, the family having lived there
a few years in the latter part of life, Mrs.
Middleton was a lovely Christian mother and
in the closing weeks of her life gave full
assurance to her family and loved ones that
she was going to that home that her loving
Savior had gone on to prepare. Her friends
were numerous and only could be calculated
by her acquaintances.

She is survived by her life-long companion,
the four children previously mentioned,
two brothers, Sherman and Ellis of Rockford,
Ill., one sister, Mrs. Martha Winn of
Memphis, Mo., and fourteen grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her small son
and three grandchildren. Funeral services
were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at
the First Baptist church, conducted by the
Rev. Luther Childs. Interment was in the
Felkner Cemetery west of Centerville.
