Mr. Meynardie was born April 9, 1924 in Charleston, son of the late James William Meynardie and Martha Winnie McGee Meynardie. He was a graduate of Newberry College and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, SC. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps serving in World War II. He was called by the United Lutheran Church in America to serve as a missionary in Japan, serving as a pastor of the Yokohama Lutheran Church and Business Manager for the Mission. For three years he served as Business Manager of the American School in Tokyo. He retired to the States to manage independent schools in Ohio and New York. In retirement, he was a 15 year volunteer in the Disaster Services of the American Red Cross and for 2 years the chairman of the Disaster Services. He was a Tax Aide Counselor for the AARP and Tax Aide Counselor for VISTA of the IRS. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
