NATCHEZ - Services for Carlton Hippie Merritt, 50, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. David McGuffie officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Merritt was born Nov. 9, 1952, in Natchez, the son of Vernon F. and Ruth Dooley Merritt.
Mr. Merritt was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda McClanahan.
Survivors include his wife, Nezzie Merritt of Natchez; four daughters, Linda Bourgeios of Vidalia, LA, Leigh McCurdy and Shelley Merritt of Natchez and Shannon Merritt of Ellisville; nine grandchildren, Hope Turner, Melinda Gauthier, Jonathan Gauthier, Jacob Bourgeios, Brandi McCurdy, D'Siree McCurdy, Brandon Hayes, Searcy Hayes and Cody Merritt; three brothers, Robert Merritt, Vernon Merritt and James Merritt, all of Natchez; two sisters, Nelda Seyfarth of Natchez, Betty Holifield of Brandon.
