Mrs. Sherry J. Arnold, age 70 of Metropolis, passed away at 3:50 pm on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the IOOF Cemetery in Metropolis. Rev. Gary Cruse will officiate.
Sherry was co-owner of Sentinel Abstract and Title Company and H & R Block in Metropolis. She was of the Baptist Faith, active in the Massac County Historical Society, and the former Metropolis City Treasurer.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Robert Arnold Sr. of Metropolis; one son, Robert Arnold Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; 2 granddaughters, Ashley Britton of Lone Oak, KY and Megan Arnold of Memphis, TN.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Powell and Evelyn (Williams) Melton.
There will not be any visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the services.
