Cheryl Melton, Spooner, died Jan. 3, 2008, at the Indianhead Medical Center, Shell Lake. She was 61 years old.
Cheryl Cable was born Sept. 27, 1946, in Spooner, to George and Lorraine (Heitkamp) Cable. She grew up in Cyclone Lake and attended the School Schools, graduating high school in 1964. On March 19, 1965, she was united in marriage to Glen Melton, Spooner. The couple lived and farmed in the town of Evergreen. Cheryl has worked at the Red Cross Pharmacy for the past eight plus years as a sales clerk, and was an original member of the Cornerstone Christian Church in which she was still a member. She will be remembered as a very loving and kind person who loved to spend time with her family.She was preceded in death by her father, George Cable.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Glen; sons Brent (Rhonda) Melton, Brian (Mavis) Melton, Steve (Becky) Melton, all of Spooner; grandchildren Mandy (Leighton) Givens, Amy, Blake, Taylor, Garin, Colton Melton; great-grandson Garrett Givens; mother Lorraine Cable, Spooner; brothers and sister Bonnie (Charles) Larson, Bloomer, Jan (Greg) Jensen, Minong, Patti (Richard) Gilberg, Spooner, Dave Cable, Spooner, Peggy Frey, Wyoming, Penny (Frank) Scalzo, Spooner, Joel Cable, Minneapolis, Minn., Lori Matzke, Menomonie; extended family Dave (Judy) Bennett Sr., Trego; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Cornerstone Christian Church, Spooner, with Ned Berube officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Scalzo-Taylor Funeral Home, Spooner, was entrusted with arrangements.
