Burns Flat - Former Duncan resident DOLLIE MARIE DORMAN, 74, of Burns Flat, passed away Monday, December 4, 2006, in Burns Flat.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Burns Flat, with Ray Greene and Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in North Burns Flat Cemetery under direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service of Elk City.
Marie was born Aug. 22, 1932, in Duncan, to Bertha Marie and Ira Homer Melott. She grew up in Hope and graduated from Marlow High School in 1949.
She married Glen Evert Dorman on June 12, 1950, in Rush Springs. Marie and Glen moved to Texas, New Mexico and Alaska before coming back to Oklahoma to make their home.
Marie was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing cards and being with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Glen of the home; three sons, Allen Dorman and wife Linda, and Michael Dorman and wife Jane, all of Soldotna, Alaska, and Tony Dorman and wife Shanna of Burns Flat; three daughters, Cheryl Martin and husband Bob of Stayton, Ore., Judy Cloud and husband James of Nikiski, Alaska, and Carolyn Fento and husband Steve of Walters; 22 grandchildren, Aimee, Kendall, Aaron, Chelsey, Todd, Ryan, Luke, Cody, David, Seraiah, Ashley, Tonia, Tiffany, Tony Jr., Katie, Matthew, Tyler, Nathan, Amanda, Donnie, Leaila and Savannah; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ira Melott and wife Nancy of Medford, Ore., and F.R. "Peanut" Melott and wife Joy of Thayer, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Winford Sanner; and a host of other relatives and friends.
