Daughter of John Meek 1813-1871 and Sarah Cutter 1814-1890.

She grew up on the family farm in Brady (aka Gregg Township), Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pa, with many siblings.

Charlotte married John Coates, on Feb 03 1880, in Allenwood, Union, Pennsylvania. A copy of their marriage certificate is marked as Presbyterian Publishing Co, with JW Boyd, minister, officiating.
John & Charlotte Coates children:

Boyd McAllister Coates 1889-1955 m. Kathyrn Sandrs 1879-1957, no children
& Oliver Meek Coates 1883-1955 m. Mary Elizabeth Foresman 1878-1960, with four children.

Her husband John, was a farmer of two acres, and their home was located on Road Camp Devitt in Greg Township. Charlotte spent her aging years, as a widow, at this home and died at 88 years. PA Death Certificate: 59420.

Charlotte was described by her family as a loving, kind and patient grandmother and a devoted member of Allenwood Presbyterian Church, in which she was an active participant of the Ladies Bible Class and the Missionary Society.
