Floyd Allen Meador, 84, of Roanoke, and formerly of Hardy died Thursday, April 24, 1997 in a local nursing home.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred S. Meador, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jube Meador, brothers, Henry, Walter and Jim Meador.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bill Moody of Roanoke; granddaughter, Amanda Delong, sisters, Mrs. Lillian Hale of Hardy, Mrs. Lula Meador of Goodview; and Mrs. Rena Thompson of Roanoke; brothers, Jerry Meador of Moneta; and Calvin Meador of Hardy; sister-in-law, Thelma Meador of Moneta; and a number nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Halesford Baptist Church, 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 1997 with the Rev. Melvin Harris officiating. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 25, 1997 at Oakey's South Chapel and from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Halesford Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Halesford Baptist Church building fund. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel.
