McLemore, Lelia Mae
Lelia Mae McLemore, 83, of Hewitt died Thursday in a local nursing home. Services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 1997, at Wilkirson-Hatch Chapel with the Rev. Roy Marshall officiating Burial at Rosemound Cemetery.
Mrs. McLemore was born on February 14, 1914, in Montgomery City, Missouri. She was reared and educated in Hewitt and Valley Mills. She married Chester H. McLemore on July 25, 1933, in Valley Mills. Mrs. McLemore was a longtime resident of Hewitt. She was employed at Texas Farm Bureau for 20 years, retiring in 1976. She and Mr. McLemore owned and operated the Hewitt Water Company for many years. She was a member of Hewitt First Baptist Church and' The Cotton Palace Good Sams Club. She was preceded in death by two sons, Royce McLemore and Ronald McLemore; and a grandson, David McLemore.
Survivors include husband, Chester H. McLemore of Hewitt; son and daughter- in-law, Curtis and Delores McLemore of Hewitt; step-daughter, Shirley Stone
and her husband, Dewey of Felton, California; daughter-in-law, June McLemore of Baytown; two granddaughters, Stacy Brooks and husband, Allen, and Stefanie Golding; three step-grandchildren, David Giles, Debra Holder, and Deanna Pace; three great-grandchildren, Clayton Brooks, Calvin Brooks, and Levi Golding; five step-great-grandchildren, Justin, Joanna, and Jessica Pace, Katie and Ray Holder.
