Born March 28, 1935, in Salem, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Agnes(Barksdale)McKinney.
She married James Babb April 21, 1956, and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Gregg(wife, Toie)Babb of New Palestine and Scott(wife, Connie)Babb of Manilla; two brothers, Darrell(wife, Carletta)McKinney of Salem and Don(wife, Jenny)McKinney of Shelbyville; one sister, Wilma(husband, Ray)Magner of Ramsey; six grandchildren, Brandy Smith, Josh Babb, Tyler Babb, Jeremiah Higdon, Mariah Babb and Kayla Davis, and three great-grandchildren, Kaylynn Smith, Gavin Smith and Haley Higdon.
She also was preceded in death by one grandson Aaron Oaks.
Mrs. Babb had lived in Shelbyville for 49 years.
She was a homemaker and had been employed as a sales clerk at Sanders Jewelry for nine years, retiring in 2004.
Mrs. Babb graduated in 1953 from Salem High School.
She was a member of West Street United Methodist Church, where she was a member of United Methodist Women.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Randy Slaven and Carl Ewick officiating.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, in Shelby County.
