Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Childers were held from the Baptist church Tuesday with Rev. Kenneth hall officiating. Mrs. Childers had reached the ripe old age of four score and four, 84. She was born in Bloomfield, MO, and came to Illinois in her girlhood days. Some years later she was united in marriage with Elijah Childers of Alto Pass. To this union 10 children were born. She was a Christian mother who was devoted to her home and her family and her church. Her life was a busy one, toiling early and late for her loved ones. She was a member of the Alto Pass Baptist church. After the death of her husband several years ago, she went to live with her children who tenderly cared for her until death. She is survived by the following children, Cora, Tabitha, Carrie, May and Floy; sons, Ed and Jessie. Three girls, Myrtle, Synda and Cynthia proceded her in death. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was laid to rest in the Alto Pass cemetery besides her husband and children that had preceded her in death.
