Mrs. Amanda McKim Died Thursday Afternoon
Amanda McKim, 65, of 1115 E. Washington Street, died in a local hospital Thursday afternoon. Mrs. McKim, the wife of Clarence McKim, local contractor, had been in failing health for the past several years.
Amanda McKim, the daughter of Jackson and Martha Maize was born Dec. 21, 1878, in Schuyler County. She was married to Clarence McKim, a well known building contractor of this city, on April 15, 1896, at Greentop.
Surviving her are: Her husband, an adopted son, Ross McKim in the rmy [sic] Air Corps stationed at Keesler Field, Biloxi, Miss., who is now home on furlough, three grandchildren, Ronnie Dale, Patricia Ann and Robert Leroy McKim, and one brother, Albert Maize, all of Kirksville. Her father and mother both died in 1929, one brother in infancy and one sister, Mrs. Mary Wayman, died three years ago.
Funeral services were held at the Dee Riley Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at two o'clock conducted by the Rev. L. V. Freeman, pastor of the First Christian Church. Interment was in the Jewell cemetery.
Pallbearers were: J. E. Huffman, Claude Wemmer, Warren Miller, Carl Butler, Pearl Funk and Jesse Tull.
