Joseph's obituary appears in the Belleville News-Democrat, Belleville, Illinois, on 4 Oct 1994, Pg 4B, Column 1, under the title: Joseph McKee.

Joseph married Carol Jean Payer on 3 Jul 1958 in Mascoutah, Illinois. Joseph and Carol had three children: Tod, Gina, and Joey.

The obituary notes that during his career, Joseph was an educator and a coach, later retiring as a counselor from School District 187.

Preceding Joseph in his death were his parents, and two sisters, Betty Alice and Helen McKee.

In addition to his wife and children who all survive him, Joseph was survived by two sisters, Nancy Eggertsen of Marion, Ill., and Elene Sieberg of Sparta, Ill.; father-in-law and mother-in-law Louis and Deloris Payer of Mascoutah, Ill.; dear friend, Robert Lurkins of Belleville, Ill.; also surviving are nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 1994, at Mascoutah City Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Ellis officiating.

Friends were able to call from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children or to the Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc.
