She was a lifelong resident of Russell County Va., and was a daughter of the late Fredrick and Louisa Samples McGlothlin. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Vandyke, are two sons, G.S. Blankenship of Raven, Va., and Otto Blankenship of Cedar Bluff, Va.; another daughter, Maude Steele of Swords Creek, Va.; seventeen grandchildren, thirty two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel, Richlands, with Rev. Peery Herndon, Rev. John Herndon and Rev. Grat Horton officiating. Burial will be in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va.
Pallbearers will be James, Glen, Harry, Bert, Leslie and Sherman Blankenship, Gene Higginbotham and Birdest Steele.
