Mrs. Albert McGinnis of Marshall, Mo., who came to Dallas on Monday, Dec. 19, to visit her son, John H. McGinnis, and his family, of 3524 Haynie avenue, died Sunday morning after a brief illness of pneumonia.
Mrs. McGinnis was the only daughter of the late John W. Hathaway of Carmichaels, Pa. She was born Sept. 9, 1860, and attended Wayesburg College of Waynesburg, Pa., from which she was graduated as a member of the class of 1882. Since September, 1890, she had lived in Marshall, Mo., where her husband, Dr. Albert McGinnis, was a member of the faculty of Missouri Valley College until his death last May.
Surviving are three sons and one daughter, John H. McGinnis of Dallas, a member of the English faculty of Southern Methodist University; E. Karl McGinnis of the University of Texas, during this academic year in absentia to fill a chair in the law school of the University of North Carolina; Arthur McGinnis of New York; and Miss Alberta McGinnis, a teacher in the high school of Marshall, Missouri.
Her son, E. Karl, and daughter, Miss Alberta, were en route to Dallas at the time of Mrs. McGinnis' death. They reached Dallas Sunday night.
The body will be taken to Marchall, Mo., and burial will be beside the body of her husband there.
Both E. Karl McGinnis and Miss Alberta McGinnis are well known in Texas. Miss Alberta attended Southwestern University at Georgetown and later taught in the high school in Lufkin. E. Karl McGinnis at one time was a member of the faculty of Bryan High School of Dallas and also of the Oak Cliff High School, teaching commercial subjects.

Funeral services for Mrs. Albert McGinnis will be held at the home of her son, John H. McGinnis, 3524 Haynie avenue, University Park, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Umphrey Lee, pastor of the Highland Park Methodist Church.
Immediately after the services the body will be forwarded on the Texas Special to Marshall, Mo., where burial will be made Wednesday.
Mrs. McGinnis was 67 years old. She was the wife of the late Dr. Albert McGinnis of Marshall, Mo., where she had made her home since 1890. Her husband, until his death last May, was a member of the faculty of Missouri Valley College. She came to Dallas on Dec. 19 to spend the holidays with her son and his family and died Sunday morning after an illness of but a few days of pneumonia.

Mrs Mary Hathaway McGinnis, of Marshall, Mo, died at the home of her son, John H McGinnis of Dallas, Texas, Sunday morning, January 1, after a brief illness of pneumonia. She had gone to visit her son and family during the holidays and had planned to spend the remainder of the winter in California. Mrs. McGinnis was the only daughter of John W and Ary Anderson Hathaway, deceased, of Carmichaels and was born September 9, 1860, being aged 67 years. She was a graduate of Greene Academy and Waynesburg college, in the class of 1882. The same year she was united in marriage with Prof Albert McGinnis, teacher of languages in Waynesburg college. They resided in Waynesburg for several years, later removing to Marshall, Mo, where Prof McGinnis was an instructor in Missouri Valley college until his death occurred last May. Mrs. McGinnis was a member of the Presbyterian church and always took an active interest in church work. Three sons and a daughter survive, John H McGinnis of Dallas, Texas, E Karl McGinnis, a member of the faculty of the University of Texas, but this year in absentia to fill a chair in the law school of the University of North Carolina; Arthur McGinnis of New York and Miss Alberta McGinnis of Marshall, Mo. She also leaves three brothers, William, Jacob and Charles Y Hathaway all of Carmichales. The body was taken to Marshall, Mo, where the funeral services were held. Interment in the Marshall cemetery beside her husband.
