Birth: Jun. 13, 1841

Death: Jul. 19, 1863

North Carolina, USA

While I do not know her parents' names, I suspect Emma C. McGee who married Andrew D. Lindsay in 1858 was a distant cousin of his. Andrew's great grandfather was Colonel John McGee (d. 1773) a prosperous early settler in the Guilford/Randolph area. Andrew and Emma's Rockingham County marriage bond was dated May 25, 1858, and was witnessed by W. M. Ellington. Z. Rush, Minister of the Gospel, performed the marriage. They were living at Hickory, Catawba Co. in 1860. They had at least 2 children: Lula M. Lindsay, born in May or June, 1860 (per census), and William Lindsay, born around 1863. Perhaps Emma died as result of his birth.
