McFarland, Nona Juanita, 84, died Mon., May 22, 2006 at Northpointe Health Care. A Lexington native, she was the daughter of the late Therman Thomas and Mary Alice Elam McFarland. Ms. McFarland attended Transylvania University and was a retired dispatch supervisor for the Lexington-Herald Leader. She was an avid golfer and a very active member of the Lexington Golf Association and Chevy Chase Baptist Church. Survivors include a brother, Kenneth McFarland, Lexington; nieces, Cherri (Ron) Burden, Winchester, KY and Nona Gail (A.C.) Brown, Austin, TX; many great nieces and nephews and cousins; and her special friends, the ladies of the Lexington Golf Association. Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Wed. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Rev. James S. McKenzie. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:30 pm Wed. until service time. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lex., KY 40504.
