Mrs. Briscee Dies Sunday In Canton

WINONA - Services for Mrs. Mary Allene Briscoe will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the First Methodist Church here, the Rev. N. J. Golden officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

She died early Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Morris Ferguson of Canton. She was 81.

A native of Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late William and Winnie Harpole McEachern. She was the widow of A. S. Briscoe, longtime North Mississippi Methodist minister. She had lived in Canton seven years and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Winona.

Prior to her illness she lived in Winona, where she was a member of the First Methodist Church and was active in the Women's Society for Christian Service. She was a member of Eastern Star, and taught school in Montgomery County many years.

Friends may call at Lee Funeral Home in Winona from noon Monday until the funeral. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Morris Ferguson of Canton, Mrs. Lee Lanham of Clarksdale and Mrs. W. H. Patton of Morgaton, N.C; two sons. A. M. Briscoe of Senatobia and Dr. L. H. Briscoe of Tupelo; and 12 grandchildren.
