DAILY STANDARD OBITUARY - 2003 - CELINA, OH
Former Celina resident Sandy Jane Clem, 47, 740 Christopher Drive, Marion, died at 11:45 a.m. June 3, 2003, at her home. Her death was due to cancer. She was born Sept. 9, 1955, in Portage, Wis., to Ivan James and Betty Carol Zanto McDuffee who survive in Bloomington, Ill. On Sept. 15, 1979, she married William H. Clem who also survives. Other survivors are a son, William A. of Marion; a daughter, Shannon (John) DeSantis, Marion; a brother, Scott McDuffee, Bloomington.; and four sisters, Sheryl Monical, Shelley (Doug) Peden and Susan (Jamie) Phelps, all of Bloomington, and Sally (Charles) Taylor, Fairbury, Ill. She was a retired supervisor of customer relations at the former G.T.E. plant in Celina, and later Verizon of Marion. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, and former director of the education committee and member of the church's Ladies Circle. A 1973 graduate of Normal Community High School, Bloomington, and Bluffton College, she was a member of Pleasant High School Boosters. Services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. J. Weston Jones officiating. Burial is Tuesday at Eastlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Bloomington. Calling is 2-4 and 7-9 Friday at the church. Contributions can be made to Hospice of Marion County, James Cancer Hospital, Columbus, or Gerson Institute, San Diego, Calif. Funeral arrangements were handled by Boyd Funeral Home, Marion.
