Alberta Binns was born July 12, 1916, in Winterset to Fletcher and Carrie (Violet) McDonald. On May 4, 1937, she married Eugene C. Binns in Des Moines. Alberta had been a homemaker and also farmed with her husband. She was a resident of Madison County for 83 years before moving to Adel in 1999 and then to Texas in 2001. She was a member of the Worthington United Methodist Church in Madison County.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Roy McDonald and Clarence McDonald; and two sisters, Gladys Nelson and Pearl Veed.
She is survived by one daughter, Emma Jean Bergman and husband Clifford of Sugar Land, Texas; two sisters, Blanche Hart of Phoenix, Ariz., and Edna Creger of Des Moines; one granddaughter, Kelli J. Mitchell and husband Dan; and two great-grandchildren, McKenna L. Mitchell and Morgan T. Mitchell.
