Veda Jo Adkins died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, in Fort Worth.

Veda was born Sept. 6, 1928, in Saginaw. She went to Saginaw schools through the 10th grade and graduated from North Side High School in Fort Worth in 1945. She worked for Agee Blind Co. for 12 years and for Cattlemen's Steak House for 35 years as bookkeeper before retiring in 1995. In 1994, Veda moved back to Saginaw, where she resided in the family home.
Survivors: Her son, Barry Allen Adkins; granddaughter, Mandy Michelle Adkins; brothers, Jack D. McDaniel, Billy F. McDaniel and Teddy D. McDaniel; sister, Martha Ann Bruner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
