Alfred Eugene "Geno" McDaniel Sr., 82, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 resting peacefully in his home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Monday night from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dixon United Methodist Church, 6637 Sandy Point Rd., Lizella, GA 31052, or Hospice Care Options, 486 New St. Macon, GA 31201.

Geno was born in Bibb County on August 1, 1932 to the late Warren Arthur and Nina Pendley McDaniel, and is predeceased by his oldest sister, Nadell McDaniel Bond. He served his country in the Georgia National Guard and worked for 12 years at Central of Georgia Railroad and later worked for Robins Air Force Base until his retirement. After retiring, he enjoyed wood working. Geno was a member of Dixon United Methodist Church and was an avid local sports fan and especially loved the Macon Whoopee Hockey Team and Mercer University sports.

Geno is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Dale Crawford McDaniel, who was the love of his life; three children, Marsha McDaniel Moore, Al McDaniel Jr., and JoRee (Ken) Wacter Rousey; four beloved grandchildren who referred to him as "Grandaddy" but thought of him as "Dad", Chris Hammock, Burt (Angela) Hammock, Heather (Donal) Tribble and Sheena (Eddie) Wacter; eight cherished great grandchildren, Kristen, Andrew, Austin, Steven, Seth, Avery, Alanah, and Layden, who all loved him dearly; two loving sisters, Joan (Robert) McDaniel Todd and Marie (John) McDaniel Brewer; and many nieces and nephews, that he loved as his own.

Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of the arrangements.
