Ida Willie McDaniel, 84, of Cheyenne was born September 5, 1902 in Old Hamburg, Oklahoma to James M. and Alice Louise Stephenson and passed away Sunday morning, February, 15, 1987 at the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne.
Ida grew up in the Old Hamburg community. On February 16, 1920 she was married to J. Lee McDaniel in Cheyenne. They continued to live in Roger Mills County. She was a member of the Lucky 13 Home Demonstration Club for a number of years and also a member of the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne. Mrs. McDaniel was employed at the Cheyenne Convalescent Home for several years.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Lee in 1954; one daughter, Dovie Felder; four sisters, three brothers and two grandsons.
Survivors include her daughter, Billie Rae Dollar and husband, Everett of Ruidosa, New Mexico; three sons, Jack and wife Kate of Crawford, Leonard and wife Margie of Durham, Bobbie Lee and wife, Susan of Hope, Kansas, son-in-law James Felder of Great Bend, Kansas, eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, one brother Ernest Stephenson of Saure, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, February 18, 1987 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne with Ray Smart officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Dewitt Hawkins, R.J. Frankford, Virgil Medley, Donnie York, Glen Tracy, and Collier Tracy.
