Mildred R. McCudden, 89, of Lower Burrell died Saturday (Oct. 23, 2004) in Highland Center Genesis HealthCare, Brackenridge.

Born Aug. 1, 1915, in Upper Tyrone, she lived in the Valley most of her life.

For 30 years, she was a sales department supervisor for Joseph Horne's Co., department store, at locations in Natrona Heights, Harrison; Pittsburgh and Upper St. Clair.

Mrs. McCudden was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann (Albert) Peyronel of Lower Burrell and Rosalie (Robert) Hughes of Haymarket, Va.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Clara Mae Bambrey and Martha (Sam) Bear, both of Scottdale.

She was preceded in death by a son, Francis E. McCudden; a grandson, Chris Hughes; her parents, Harry and Anna Mae Smith Ansell; and two brothers, Harry and Eugene Ansell.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder Street. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
