Obituary from Mansfield News Journal 11-23-1942:
Mrs. Lucretia A Beer, 73, widow of Fred C Beer, died early Monday at the Mansfield Sanatorium hospital. She had been ill for the past several months.
Born in Leo, Ind. on August 9, 1869, Mrs. Beer has been a resident of this vicinity for 60 years, and was a member of the Gospel Center church.
Surviving are two sons, Paul F Beer and Charles S Beer, and Mrs. Clarence Swaidner, all of Mansfield; one sister Mrs. J. R. Nissley of Evanston, Ill.; a niece, Mrs. Clarence Harbaugh of Evanston, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Wappner funeral home Wednesday at 3:30 PM by Rev. S. R. Parrett. Burial will be at the Lexington Cemetery.

Lucretia McCrory was the daughter of John McCrory and Susan Arnold. John McCrory was born in Vermillion Township of Ashland County and married Susan Arnold October 14, 1851 in Ashland County, Ohio. The family moved to Leo, Indiana sometime after 1860 where John McCrory lived near many of his McCrory cousins. He moved on to Fayette County, Illinois in the 1870s and must have returned to the Mansfield area in the early 1880s. Some of Lucretia's ancestors are buried in the McCrory Family Cemetery in Vermillion Township which on some of the farmland that the family purchased in 1813.
