Dorothy Neal "Dot" (McCormack) Anglea was born on October 14, 1930 in Davidson County, Tennessee, and she was the daughter of George William McCormack Sr (1903–1974) and Classie Neal (Hale) McCormack (1909–1970).

She graduated from East Nashville High School in Davidson County in 1950 with her high school sweetheart James Monroe Anglea (1929–1993), and he was the son of Monroe Lee Anglea (1882–1952) and his 2nd wife Connie Orvetta (May) Anglea (1904–1987). They were married on August 4, 1950.

A supervisor with the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department, School Crossing Guard division, with 25 years of service, Dot was also a real estate broker/agent, as well as being a lifelong member of the Church of Christ in Nashville and Joelton.

She was a resident of Joelton, Davidson County when she died November 12, 2014 at the age of 84.

Preceded in death by her husband, she was survived by a married son, three married daughters, a sister, her married brother George William McCormack Jr (1931-2016), a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a special caregiver.

Burial was in Anglea Cemetery at Castalian Springs, Tennessee, with the past and current Metropolitan Police Department School Crossing Guards serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
