Ann Casey, widow of the late J. M.
Casey died at her home on East
Jackson street death ending an illness
of several weeks duration. Mrs.
Casey was a sister of the late
McCoIley whose death occurred at her
home several weeks ago and during
the last illness of her brother, she
overtaxed, herself taking ill short
after his death.
Mrs. Casey was about 75 years of
age, and was a daughter of Jesse and
Caroline (McMahon) McColley. She
was born in Shelby county but has
resided in Tipton county for the past
fifty-one years, she and her husband
formerly residing in the Sharpsville
community. She was united in marriage
to Squire J.M. Casey, a civil war veteran,
at the close of the civil war, but no
children were born to the union. She,
however acted as a mother to Harry
McColley, a nephew and Mrs. Mae Pape,
a niece, both children of her brother,
Jesse McColley, and showered on them
the love of a good woman.
Mrs. Casey was a devout Christian
woman whose many kind
qualities of heart and mind made a
woman sought by neighbors. For
the past twenty-five years Mrs.
Casey has been a resident of Tipton
and loved by all who knew her.
Since the death ol her husband,
she and her niece, Mrs. Mae Pape,
county attendance officer have resided
together on East Jackson street, the
niece giving the sick woman the care
and devotion of a daughter.
Page 1, Tipton Daily Tribune, Feb. 5, 1926 states: The funeral services for Mrs. Cynthia Ann Casey, who died Thursday night, will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the Baptist church with the pastor, Rev. J.L. Noland officiating. The burial will take place at Fairview cemetery. (Mrs. Casey's obituary was on Page 8 of the same newspaper.)
