Warren Woman Is Claimed By Death
Wife Of Dr. W. D. Bonifield Dies Monday Night, And Funeral Thursday
Mrs. Emma L. Bonifield, 77, wife of Dr. W. D. Bonifield, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday at her home in Warren, following an illness of two years from hardening of the arteries. She had been bedfast for a period of one year.

Born Aug. 3, 1866, in Salamonie township, Huntington county, the decedent was the daughter of John and Mary Stephens McClure. She was married Oct. 28, 1891 in Warren to Dr. W. D. Bonifield by Rev. M. H. Mott.

Mrs. Bonifield was a member for over 50 years of the Methodist church in Warren, was a member of the Warren Order of the Eastern Star, of the Chautaqua and Alumni clubs. She was the last of her immediate family.

Surviving are the husband; a daughter, Mrs. Merritt Tam, and three sons, W. Harry Bonifield, Dr. Howard Mack Bonifield, and Dr. Harold F. Bonifield, all of Warren.

The body will be taken from the H. Brown & Son funeral home to the residence this evening.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist church in Warren in charge of the pastor Rev. L. M. Hile. Burial will be in the Woodlawn cemetery.

Dave Huffman's Note: Emma L. (McClure) Bonifield's Findagrave site states she was born in Darke County, Ohio and that her death date was 08 Mar 1944.

Note: There is family discussions on whether her family name was McCluer or McClure. Her parent's headstone is engraved McCluer. I believe the correct spelling is McClure, and that the headstone was incorrectly engraved.
