COLONIE - Marie (Kemp) Bromley, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Wesley Health Care. She was born in Bronx, the daughter of the late Ashby and Marie McCleskey. Marie grew up in New Rochelle and moved to Albany after marriage. She was a cosmetic buyer for Muhlfelder's Women's shop, Flah's, Boston Store and K-Mart for many years. In her later years, Marie sold real estate for Welborne and Purdy. She enjoyed making crafts and selling them at craft fairs. Marie was a communicant of Christ Our Light Catholic Church and enjoyed the gatherings with the senior groups at the church. Marie is deceased by her children, Karen Kemp (deceased); stepchildren, James Bromley, Jr. (deceased), and the sister of June Unser (deceased). Marie was predeceased by her husband James Bromley and by her former husband and father of her children, Arvid W. "Bill" Kemp. Thank you to the nurses at Wesley Nursing Home and Community Hospice for the care and compassion shown to our mother. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive Loudonville. Interment will be at Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 in memory of Marie.
