She was born Nov. 5, 1911, in Horton, to Joseph E. and Edna Booth McClaskey. She graduated from Horton High School in 1930 and spent most of her life in Horton. She was a telephone operator and later a column writer for the Horton Headlight newspaper for more than 40 years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Horton, United Methodist Women and the Horton Hospital auxiliary.
She married Virgil A. Crawford on June 12, 1932, in Horton. He died April 16, 1984. A son, Tom Crawford; two daughters, Patty Ann Crawford and Lois Crawford; and a granddaughter, Sally Crawford, also died.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Crawford, Sedalia, Mo., and Paul Crawford, Topeka; a daughter, Linda Morris, Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton. Burial will be in Horton Cemetery. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
