She married John Evans (originally from PA) in April 1855 in Jefferson Co. IA. Their only [known] child Ida Belle Evans (went by Belle) was born in Van Buren Co., IA between 1859-1862.
Probate records show Mariah died 2 Feb 1882 in Appanoose Co., IA. Her daughter, [listed as] Belle 'Layerd' [correct spelling 'Laird'] was named as her only heir. Because of that, and her residence at the time of her death, it's assumed that she and John Evans (1832 - 1902) were no longer [living] together.
