Edward, 78, of Harrison passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Grayling, Michigan. Mr. McCarrick was the son of Lew and Mable (Spiegel) McCarrick.
Edward was united in marriage to the former Darlene Jenkins on February 22, 1969 in Harrison.
Mr. McCarrick enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working in his shop. He could fix anything, was considered a "jack of all trades" and would give the shirt off his back and no one was a stranger to Edward.
Surviving Mr. McCarrick is his loving wife of forty four years, Mrs. Darlene McCarrick of Harrison, four daughters: Wanda Standly and husband Bill of Clare, Golda Treadway of Ohio, Lorraine Hovinga and husband Robert of Houghton Lake, Michigan and Chris Kausley of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, six sons: Edward J. McCarrick Jr. of Flint, Michigan, Frank M. McCarrick of Florida, LaVern McCarrick of Owosso, Michigan, Richard McCarrick and wife Marlyne of Tennessee, Carl McCarrick and wife Kelly of Harrison and Malvin Causley of Traverse City, Michigan, beloved friend, James Witbeck, two sisters: Ruth Cummings of Ovid and Judy Passmore of Ferndale, Michigan, two brothers: Bill McCarrick of Owosso and Donald McCarrick and wife Billie of Beaverton, Michigan, numerous grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews.
Mr. McCarrick was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Leda LaVerty and Dolly Angel, a great-grand daughter, Mary Thompson and two grandsons: Ryan McCarrick and Jason McCarrick.
Funeral services for Mr. McCarrick were held Friday, May 10, 2013 from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Rev. Jerry Britton officiating.
