|Death: ||Aug. 25, 2012|
Linda was born and raised in Orem, Utah. She graduated from Orem High School, class of 1964. Linda enjoyed an active outdoor lifestyle that came from growing up near the Provo River on Carterville Road in Orem. As a child she enjoyed terrorizing her three brothers and being terrorized by them. She was an avid sports fan who played tennis in her youth and it remained her favorite sport to watch as an adult. Linda loved music of all types and especially enjoyed warm summer days and basking in the sun. Linda was an excellent cook who learned from her mother and kept the family recipes. She believed in the carrying on of certain family traditions and did so by preparing many of the family's favorite dishes during the holidays. Linda had a very strong work ethic that she learned from her parents. She embodied this work ethic over a twenty five year career as a department manager for the Kmart Corporation during which she maintained a traditional home for her family and battled through the ongoing challenges with her health. She spent her entire adult life struggling with Lupus and the variety of health issues that are associated with it. Linda's other interests included pampering her pets, shopping for "cute" shoes, spoiling her grandson, RV travel, driving her fast cars and relaxing peacefully at home. Linda Linda Lee McCandless Benson died Saturday, August 25, 2012, from complications due to kidney failure.

Benson of Provo/Salt Lake City, UT; her brothers: Lanny McCandless of Tampa, FL, Von McCandless (Pamela) of Salt Lake City, UT, Bruce McCandless (Kimberly) of Albuquerque, NM; son, Jaeson Jones of Salt Lake City, UT; and grandson, Kyle Jones.
