Jane Bates, a resident of Tucson, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on April 4, 2013.
Born in Ottumwa, Iowa, she is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Dixie McBeth.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Lenny; devoted sons, Ryan (Lauren) and Austin (Lindsey); sisters, Suzann Williamson (Glenn) and Julie Sweeney (Dan); sister-in-law, Janice Parcell (Russ); Scottish terriers, Duncan and Abbey; and countless other loving family and friends.
Jane was an amazing wife and mother, and lived her life around "her boys". Her contagious spirit and enthusiasm brought smiles to friends and strangers alike. Jane was in her element when she was at home, with phone in hand, checking on her family and friends to make sure everything was okay.
Always quick to help those she knew, Jane was a rock of support and comfort for all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with loved ones in any social setting and could often be heard cheering loudly for her Arizona Wildcats. While we never got the chance to say goodbye, she will always be with us and will live on in our cherished memories.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Road, Tucson, Arizona 85712, (520) 885-6741.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/default.aspx?tsid=72).
