Shirley was born August 19, 1927, in Morrice, the daughter of Effie (Fouts) Elsworth McAninch. On November 9, 1957, she married Carl Ayers in St. Johns, Michigan.
She enjoyed baking, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She often took trips to the casinos and visited the local senior center.
Survivors included: five sons, Danny (Monzelle) Watson of Gaylord, Gary (Rita) Watson of California, David (Kathy) Watson of Owosso, Russell (Teresa) Ayers of Ovid and Randy (Sandy) Ayers of Durand; eight grandchildren, Charley Watson, Cassandra (Brian) Decker, April Watson, Matt Watson, Kristy (Brett) Wagner, Rebecca (Robert) Allen, Rachael Ayers and David Ayers; seven great-grandchildren, Samantha, Daman, Autumn, Brandon, Josette, Cory and Jacob; brother, Denny (Pat) McAninch; best friend and sister-in-law, Lucille Richardson and husband Jim; nieces, Chris and Edna; nephew, Patrick.
She was predeceased by her husband; two brothers; and one sister.
