AGNES MAYER VAN NOTE BROWER, 96, of BRICK, died Monday, Sept. 17, at Claremont Care Center, Point Pleasant. She was a homemaker. Born Jan. 17, 1911, in Czechoslovakia, she came to the United States as a young girl. She lived in Hackettstown on a farm. Later, after moving to Osbornville, she worked as a maid in Bay Head. There, she met her first husband, Charles Ruslin Van Note Sr., and they married. They lived in Osbornville on Drum Point Road, where they owned and operated a farm and produce stand for more than 60 years.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Ruslin Van Note Sr.; her second husband, Albert Brower; three sons, John Van Note, Charles Van Note, and William Van Note; a brother; and two sisters. Surviving are 15 grandchildren, William Van Note, Brian Van Note, Michael Van Note, Susan Losi, Steven Van Note, Adriana Van Note, Chuck Van Note, Christopher Van Note, John Van Note, Deborah Reynolds, Marianne Hathaway, Cheryl Hedberg, Donna Parker, Robert Parker, and Linda Parker; 29 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and her longtime friend and caretaker, Mary Manu.
Visiting hours will be from 11 a.m. Thursday until her funeral service at 1 p.m. at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Road, Brick. Interment will take place at Osbornville Methodist Cemetery, Brick.
