Mollie M. Burgett, age 92, of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee passed away on October 7, 2018 at her residence.
Mollie was born on February 26, 1926 in Mount Pleasant to the late Clifford and Bethel Hayes Maxwell. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; she would work all week at Mount Pleasant Manufacturing then care for her grandchildren all weekend. In addition to her family she also loved dogs. Throughout the years she did ironing for numerous members of the community. She was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church.
Mollie is survived by her sons, James (Evelyn) Burgett, Jackie (Diane) Burgett and Donald Burgett; grandsons, Jimmy (Angela) Burgett, Jack (Lisa) Burgett, Derrick (Jennifer) Burgett and Michael Burgett as well as eight great granddaughters and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Charlie Hugh Burgett, granddaughter, Teresa Parker and husband, Ernest Burgett.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Michael Burgett officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Donald Burgett, Jack Burgett, Jimmy Burgett, Derrick Burgett, Randy Horn and Will Hutson. Honorary Pallbearers are Virgil Stewart, John Swanner, Jack West, Tim Spears and deacons of Southside Baptist Church. The family would like to offer a very special thank you to her caregivers with Hospice Compassus.
