Cynthia Porter Mattingly, age 85 of Hardinsburg, KY died Friday, March 7, 2014 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born in Anderson, South Carolina on February 26, 1929, the daughter of the late Hoyt and Lura King Porter. She was a retired elementary teacher with the Breckinridge County Board of Education, a member of Hardinsburg Baptist Church, Breckinridge County Retired Teachers and Kentucky Retired Teachers. Cindy enjoyed the theatre and was a member of the Stephen Foster drama. She was active in her church, enjoyed reading and was a U of K Wildcat and Breckinridge County Tiger fan.

Her husband Charles Mattingly died June 29, 2013.

Cindy is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Charla and Wayne Spencer of Hardinsburg, KY
Caren and Kevin Lowe of Hardinsburg, KY
4 grandchildren: Kerry Spencer (Lindsey), Kyle Spencer (Becky), Corey Lowe (Sarah), Chad Lowe
4 great grandchildren: Luke Porter Spencer, Gentry Kate Spencer, Jase David Spencer, Jacob Matthew Lowe
1 sister - Anne Redmon of Bowling Green, KY

Funeral services will be held at Hardinsburg Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 with Rev. Harry Dooley officiating. Burial will be in the Ivy Hill Cemetery. Visitation at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, 3:30 - 8PM and Wednesday after 8:30 AM.

She is survived by two daughters, Charla Spencer (Wayne) and Caren Lowe (Kevin) of Hardinsburg, KY; four grandchildren, Kerry Spencer (Lindsey), Kyle Spencer (Becky), Corey Lowe (Sarah) and Chad Lowe; four great-grandchildren, Luke Porter Spencer, Gentry Kate Spencer, Jase David Spencer, Jacob Matthew Lowe; one sister, Anne Redmon of Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Hardinsburg Baptist Church, with burial in the Ivy Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 3:30 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are requested to: Hardinsburg Baptist Church Building Fund, Gideons International or the Shriners.
