Alexander Francis Mattingly, 57, of 236 Paca Street, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital where he had been admitted earlier in the day. Born in Mt. Savage, he was a son of Alexander and Veronica (Murphy) Mattingly. A Carman helper at Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Bolt and Forge, he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Railway Workers and Helpers and of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Surviving are his widow, Elsie Lee (Sathoff) Mattingly; four daughters, Nancy Marylee, Linda Marie, Helen Louise and Christine Frances Mattingly, all at home; four sisters, Mrs. Angela Miller of North Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Robert Madden, Mrs. Clara Cookerly and Mrs. Dorothy Blake, all of the city. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home where the family will receive friends today and tomorrow from 2 until 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Interment will be in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
