Enid M Hawkins Mattice was born June 21, 1878. She was raised first by her grandparents Samuel F West and Charlotte Porter West, then Aunt and Uncle Samuel Brainard West and Hannah E. Thompson West, together with a cousin, Fredrica Jane Thompson Campbell. Enid and Fredrica became friends to the end of their days and the children of Fredrica and their children knew Enid as a loving "Aunt Enid". She passed away in 1961.
